This awesome looking classic space themed space-ship was built by LEGO Space builder and flickr.com user Alec Hole a.k.a. hhcBrick who is known for his amazing space themed creations. I always loved the classic space because of its incredible taste of nostalgia. The builder did a great job combining the modern building techniques with the classic space feel. As the name of the MOC suggests, this ship is the remake of the LEGO set 497 Galaxy Explorer. Don't forget to check out the builders photo-stream for more great MOC's like this one. 

This piece of awesome nostalgia is shared by LEGO fan and flickr.com user Frost a.k.a. TFDesigns! who is know for his colorful space creations. I always liked Classic Space and the fallowing Space themes like M:Tron, Blacktron, Blacktron II etc. This MOC reminds my the good old times where you don't have to put stickers on pieces. 

Classic space is one of my favourite themes and the Mega Core Magnetizer (6989) is one of my all time favourite sets. Flickr.com user and Eurobricks member ZCerberus combined these two and created a beautiful space vehicle MOC. I really liked the greebles all around the vehicle as well as the smoothness of the blue trim sections. Using old magnet pieces added the MOC a little bit of nostalgia which is great. The huge transparent yellow canopy piece looks great giving the vehicle an absolutely classic space look while being a highly sought-after (also really expensive in the second-hand market) piece. LEGO fan and talented MOC'er ZCerberus who is known for his great creations in historical themes in Eurobricks shared a nice collection of Classic Space themed space ships including the  LL 612 FireMoth. The shaping and texturing of the vehicle is done impressively. Large transparent yellow canopy piece from the Benny's spaceship is nicely used in a great MOC like this.

No this is not West Coast Customs from US. This is West Dunes Customs from Tatooine (A planet in Star Wars Universe). LEGO fan and flickr.com user Luigi Priori a.k.a. Priovit70 recently shared this nice and detailed minifigure scale landspeeder MOC which looks like customized by local custom-shop from Tatooine. From aesthetic point of view the seats of the vehicle are very nicely shaped and classic space logos are nice addition too. The creator also shared photos from the workshop when javas are painting the vehicle.

Kaplan: We already know you are one of the best LEGO MOC'ers in the world. What can you tell us about yourself other than that. What is your dayjob? Do you have any other hobbies or activities?

Paul: As my dayjob I am working as a corporate lawyer at a local energy Company. After finishing my work there, I mostly enjoy a good meal and beer with friends. Besides that I am going to the gym and love to climb. Actually there are no more Hobbies needed than that, while building MOC's is really time consuming.

K: Do you remember the day when you got your first LEGO set? Which set was it? And How old were you when you started playing with LEGO bricks?

P: I don't really remember everything that clearly, because it is a lot of years ago, may have been when I was four years old. Maybe I have played with my father's collection before I got my first set. But thinking about the sets I received first, it must have been 6672 Safari Off-Roader or 6671 Utility Repair Vehicle. The printed parts of both sets were my favorites at that time.

LEGO fan and flickr.com member billyburg shared this nice little speeder in his photo-stream. This MOC is obviously based on the Luke's land speeder from Star Wars: A New Hope. Insead of Obi-wan and Luke, two blue Classic Space Astronauts are sitting in the vehicle. The builder managed to give a clear classic space look to the vehicle using the accurate colorscheme and minifigures. I personally like the old classic helmets more than the modern ones with the visor but other than that this MOC is perfect.

This weeks guest is one of the best Sci-fi builders in the World; Nick Trotta a.k.a tardisblue. He is known for his incredible space-ships built with amazing building techniques and colors. Photos from the work of our guest will be presented between the questions.

Sci-fi master-builder and flickr.com user Michał Kaźmierczak a.k.a. migalart who is known for his amazing dioramas like Erebor, Mustafar and many more share this outstanding space ship called Spectre 501 in his photo stream. According to the builders description this vehicle is fully playable. It consists of four main modules and 12 open-able tabs that provide access to the interior. The vehicle also has 7 doors that can be manipulated from the outside. The ships exterior is full of greebles that make it so detailed. I also liked the Classic Space color-scheme on this MOC as well.

Instead of yelling "Spaceship" Benny will yell from now on "Spacetank!". LEGO fan and master-model builder Andrea Lattanzio a.k.a Norton74 who is known for his amazing creations like Speed Garage and Fire Truck, shared his nice maintenance hanger and a wonderful Classic Space themed tank, "Blue Bull". According to the description of the builder the tank design is based on  WWI English tank Mark I. The hangar itself is also built very detailed with tools, containers and lots of Classic Space astronauts.

LEGO Space Fan and flickr.com member justin_m_winn has shared his awesome creation about all the LEGO Space series. Space Academy - Lecture Room L15a inclues different space factions like M-Tron, Blacktron and also Benny on a Space Class. It is not a complicated MOC but it looks perfect with color scheme.

LEGO Space fan and flickr.com member Walter Whiteside Jr. a.k.a. whitesidewjw has built the classic space themed version of the official Star Wars set Resistance Troop Transporter 75140. With the iconic blue-grey color-scheme with trans-yellow glass pieces this MOC really reminds us the old good days. I would be more happy if a Classic Space Astronaut from 80's would be used as the pilot but as a Star Wars fan and Classic Space lover I can say that this is a great mash-up of the themes overall.

This spaceship also have a  nice interior filled with seats, accessories and printer pieces.

Space Cola delivery robot and his delivery speeder are built by LEGO fan and flickr.com member Luigi Priori a.k.a Priovit70. The MOC is built for the Brothers Brick Space Chefs Competition, "Space Chefs On-The-Go" category. The custom logo and prints on the parts are really outstanding. The custom minifigure is bulilt using  the head of a robot-police from the LEGO Movie.

LEGO Space Fan and flickr.com member Julius von Brunk shared this MOC containing a space-themed car "The Astrosurfer" together with space rock band "The Highway Stars". This vehicle is detailed and articulated with wheels, rubber tires, hinged doors, reclining seats, and with access to the car’s trunk. On the hood of the car is a metallic ornament, and underneath is a detailed engine but what I like the most is the classic-car-like shaping and the color. I like the rock band even more. As a classic space fan I think the idea of a band out of classic space figures is great. The band member minifigures are playing different guitars that came out from the collectible minifigure series. The creator also shared this creation as an Ideas project. Eurobricks member and LEGO Fan Jonathan Gilbert a.k.a Shmails in flickr built this beautiful hangar diorama for the Andromeda's Gates Challenge of Eurobricks.com. This MOC takes the third place in the event but was really successful in terms of interior design in my opinion. The minifigure choice and good posing of them makes the creation seem like a scene from a sci-fi movie. With its studless design it has a very clean look. LEGO lover Sci-fi fans know very well that its usually hard to archive proper interior design using bley color building walls. Proper texturing is very important to build a "sci-fi" wall and make it different than a castle wall. The creator done a very good job building hangar wall on the left appropriately with the theme. Another interesting point is the letters on the hangar door which are created using plates.

Flickr member and LEGO Space Fan Miro Dudas a.k.a Miro78 shared this amazing space structure MOC in his account. The icosahedron shaped Dom is the most interesting part of this design ofcourse. The stucture has alsa an interior full of plants too. The entrance section of the structure is hexagonally shaped and look unusual and interesting too. This MOC is featuring classic space astronauts in various colors as well as new green classic space astronauts using yellow head-pieces like the original figures. I'm sure that this MOC will be remembered as one of the most original sci-fi creations of this year because of its original structural shape.
