Talented LEGO builder and one of our guest of honors Thorsten Bonsch a.k.a. Xenomurphy shared this outstanding MOC in his flickr.com photo-stream. The shaping of the Venom in beast form is really impressive. I also liked the angled textures on the walls of he building built using tile and slope pieces.

LEGO fan and flickr.com user LEGO 7 recently shared this small super-hero battle vignette in his photo-stream where the super-villain Yellow Jacket attacks the Ant-man riding a wasp. The shaping of the wasp is done impressively. I also like the enlarged sized LEGO bricks very much.

Special Interview with Thorsten Bonsch a.k.a Xenomurphy

Hello LEGO enthusiasts. We are starting the week with a exciting interview. This week's guest of honor is a builder from Germany, Thorsten Bonsch a.k.a Xenomurphy who is known for his great action scene MOC's and the amazing Arkham Asylum MOC. Photos from the work of our guest will be presented between the questions.

Kaplan: We already know that you are an AFOL. What can you tell us about yourself other than that? What is your day job? Do you have any other hobbies or activities?

Thorsten Bonsch: I earn my living as a media designer, which is a fancy word for advertising artist, which is also a fancy word, now that I think about it.
Anyway, I adore anything that is creative or allows me to be creative, so my hobbies include drawing, painting, making movies, writing, the use of 3D software, moulding, computer games, board games, books, movies, music (though I’m completely unmusical), TV series, audio books and comics.

K: Do you remember the day when you got your first LEGO set? Which set was it? And how old were you when you started playing with LEGO bricks?

T: I’m not sure if it was the first set, but I remember some of my first sets, the yellow Classic Castle (Set #375) and  the classic Space Scooter (Set #885). I was very proud of the Space Scooter and when I wanted to show it to my friend and brag about it, I realised that he already had the much bigger classic Space Transport (Set #918). What a sad day – hahaha, no, not really. We loved to play with LEGO together. Nevertheless, I started playing with LEGO in general years before, with my older brother’s LEGO collection. There might have been sets included, but all the instructions and boxes were missing and he kept his bricks in an old kitchen drawer.

News: Exclusive Buccaneer Batman Minifigure

We already knew that the new LEGO DC Comics Character Encyclopedia will include a exclusive batman minifigure which is rumored to be a pirate batman like the Buccaneer Batman revealed in Justice League: Cosmic Clash Movie. Today various sources from internet like brickheroes.com and thebrickfan.com announce that the new batman figure will be almost identical to the one that was rumored. Actually the original pirate style batman is called Captain Leatherwing in the DC Comics universe. According to the description in Publishers's web page the book will be a comprehensive visual guide to the full range of LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes minifigures, including Batman, Superman, and their friends and foes. You can now pre-order the book on Amazon and it will be released on April 5.

News: Sets for the second half of 2016 are displayed in NY Toy Fair

Photos for the upcoming 2016 sets from different themes are reveled in NY Toy Fair. Here are the photos of new sets from Nexo Knights, Super Heroes, NinjaGO and Star Wars. The sets include many new molds, prints and colors. I'm espcially impressed with the Super Heroes sets which include many new comic heroes which are never released before like Red Hood, Black Panther, White Tiger, Vulture and many more. We have collected all the photos in a separate page for you to see.

Superhero film based on the Marvel Comics, Deadpool is on cinemas this week. The film is directed by Tim Miller, with a screenplay by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Flickr member and LEGO Fan Tim Lidy shared this great brick-built Deadpool figure in his photo-stream.

New Marvel Super Heroes Polybag revealed!

Recently a new Marvel Super Heroes polybag is revealed. The source of the news is Brickheroes.com. The new polybag consists of a spiderman minifig and a insectoid venom-creature. It looks like this polybag will be an easy way of getting lots of venom head pieces. There is one uper jumper part in the polybag it seems that LEGO still thinks that those super jumper pieces are nice but It would be great if LEGO change the design of the super jumper somehow because it scratches the backside of the minifigure-legs.
