Today we have a very talented guest of honor, Dennis Qiu a.k.a d' Qiu Brick from Indonesia who is especially known for his sci-fi and monster MOC's. He has built som any great MOC's that we can not fit all the photos in this interview post. So be sure to check out his flickr.com photo-stream for many more great creations. Photos from the work of our guest will be presented between the questions.

Kaplan: We already know you are one of the best LEGO MOC'ers in the world. What can you tell us about yourself other than that. What is your real name? What is your dayjob? Do you have any other hobbies or activities?

Dennis: I am so honored with your words, but I still have much to learn more from other MOC'ers. I am 32 years old and live in Karawang-jawa Barat Indonesia. I am selling construction material for buildings for living. When I'm done with my work, I usually spend my spare time playing with my children Reagan and Kaylean. Beside these, I also do sports like cycling and playing futsal.

Transparent pieces are used very well in combination with light royal blue and white opaque parts. The design of the head is really impressive too. The mouth with big teeth gives the beast a frightening look for sure. Check out the builders photo-stream for more monstrous figures.

Scary Zerg Creatures from Starcraft by d' Qiu Brick

LEGO fan and flickr.com user d' Qiu Brick a.k.a. dennis qiu who was recently blogged here with his Transforming Sci-Fi Fighter Plane: Terror R-17 built amazing alien creatures called Zerg from famous PC game Star Craft. The details of the alien monsters are incredible and resembles the models from the game very much. I especially like the Zergling. It's face looks really scary with all those teeth and red eyes. Zerg devourer in the photo below has also a nice and accurate shape and the vibrant color choice for the wings and the body fits the MOC very well. The terrain underneath the creatures were also built beautifully matching the details from the game including crystals and skeletons.

Boga - Obi-Wan's Varactyl by Markus Rollbühler

LEGO Fan and Flickr.com member Markus Rollbühler has recently shared his latest MOC includes an epic monster named Boga. It helped Obi-Wan in Episode III Revenge of the Sith. Markus modeled it very successfully with great number of dark-green pieces. I especially liked the claws and the tail.

One the successful online game, Elder Scrolls Online inspire fans of LEGO. Thorsten Bonsch who is also fan of Elder Scrolls Online created a scene on the desert named, The Thieves Guild. There is a battle happened between a huge monster and 3 men and everyone ended up dead. The curved sand hill looks also perfect.

Attack of the Sea Monster!

LEGO Fan and flickr member Jonas recently shared this amazing monster attack diorama in his photo stream. The name of this MOC is "Monstrum Maris" and this MOC is built for the Iron Builder challenge against Tim Schwalfenberg. Both sides have built amazing MOC's like Forbidden Fortress, District 9 ExosuitWhat's Cooking? and many more throughout the challenge and they keep building. them. The wave effect done with transparent plate pieces is incredible on this MOC. The monster (Kraken?) is built nicely but the design of the ship makes this diorama perfect. The creator also shared photos of the ship separately as well.

He also built MOC of a stuffed dragon which is also another great MOC that you have to see. Interestingly we have seen a very similar knifehead model before built by Olive Sean in 2013.
